ONE SELFIE TO RULE THEM ALL

In this age of social media and ubiquitous cameras, what is more common than taking selfies with your friends while partaking in activities? Heck, I have a slideshow of them on the homepage. In 2017 I finally became a season ticket holder, by way of a 20-Game plan in section 108. Midway through the season my friend Holly joined me for a game and we took a particularly good photo together. Being a less than photogenic person, I was pleased that even I did not diminish the quality. Fast-forward to literally any other game I went to where such a picture was posted with any other friend. Holly would reply to the post with a reminder that ours was the best picture and none could compare. Doubly so if it was her sister/my BFF that was the subject.

We live in strange times currently, and in an attempt to maintain a top-notch fan experience, the Mariners have gone above and beyond in engaging their fans in creative ways. One such way is the Season Ticketholder Spotlight, wherein during the game broadcast, someone will be featured with a short little blurb about what they love at the ballpark, and yes, a picture.

And so it was that September 9th vs. the Giants, the selfie for the ages went from a joke amongst our friends, to a part of history.

Perfection. Except for the fact that Dave Sims, my eternal nemesis, MISPRONOUNCED MY NAME. How people so often look at that and get 'Stringer' is beyond me.

*Editor's note - Dave Sims is a lovely human being, I just dislike his announcing...strongly.
